The Product Support Engineering is seeking a Data Engineer/Software Engineer to support multiple product lines based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. Full-Time telework may be considered for this role.

This individual will report to the Manager of Product Support and will contribute to a variety of data analytics and data visualization efforts. They will be a part of a small team working on similar projects.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability (MSTS) Division.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop full-stack applications supporting programs and business operations
  • Architect and develop cross-system data integrations, to improve data accessibility and streamline business practices.
  • Developing and maintaining automation scripts to reduce manual work to improve efficiency.
  • Leading data collection efforts and performing trend analysis to identify common performance challenges that require further attention.
  • Design and develop front-end interfaces to support user workflows.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to align project goals.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve existing applications and workflows, contributing to modernization efforts.

This position may be filled as an Associate Database Engineer or an Database Engineer based on the qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Database Engineer

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Be majoring in or have majored in STEM discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development
  • Strong level of coding with C# and SQL
  • Knowledge with JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Basic understanding of Git.
  • Strong sense for writing quality code (testing automation, separation of concerns, design principles and patterns).
  • Demonstrated ability to organize workload and coordinate tasks across multiple projects, evidenced by managing3 or more concurrent initiatives with on-time delivery in the past12months.
  • Proven interpersonal communication skills, such as verbal presentations (15minutes or more) to managers at all levels and to cross-functional team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, shown by identifying and resolving 5 or more process inefficiencies or data-driven issues per quarter, resulting in measurable cost or time savings.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain active DoD Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet business needs.

  • Experience with React (preferred) or any front-end frameworks
  • Experience with Python especially any experience with Django
  • Proficiency with working in a ASP.NET and/or a Windows Forms environment
  • Any knowledge/experience working with Object Relational Mappers (ORMs)
  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization packages (ChartJS, matplotlib).
  • Unit Testing (AutoFixture, XUnit, JEST)
  • (YAML) Scripts and CI/CD Pipelines

Salary Range:
Associate Database Engineer: $69,300.00 -$103,900.00

Database Engineer: $83,400.00-$125,200.00
