Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Baptist Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to manage the care of complex, acutely ill patients. This role involves direct patient interaction, telehealth, and other communication methods, focusing on quality care, assessments, and treatment planning. The APRN will collaborate with supervising physicians and contribute to patient outcomes across the health system.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage the care of complex acutely ill patients via face-to-face, telehealth, or other communication devices
  • Provide quality care, perform patient assessments, H & Ps, and take a thorough medical history
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Develop medical diagnoses, appropriate treatment plans, prescribe medical regimens, and educate patients/family regarding diagnosis and plan of care
  • Perform approved procedures and order medications as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges
  • Work directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients and families to ensure quality of care across the health system
  • Intervene and manage deteriorating patients as a clinical team leader
  • Participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care within the area of practice

Compensation

  • Estimated salary range for this position is $118,907.47 - $158,146.94 / year depending on experience

Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
  • 3 years of relevant RN experience
  • Compliant with state of Florida requirements for CEUs and licensure
  • DEA License required as per specialty/function
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support required as per specialty/function
  • Nurse Practitioner National Certification required
  • Obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location
