This job requires frequent travel, sometimes on short notice, within assigned counties and statewide, including occasional overnight stays. Use of personal vehicle may be required and compensated at the NC Office of State Budget and Management's established mileage rate. <br><br>As a Nurse Consultant Lead in the Acute and Home Care Licensure and Certification Section, the main responsibility is to provide leadership and professional supervision to team members and coordinate survey activities to determine compliance levels with State and Federal regulations through the survey process.<br><br>Job responsibilities include:<br><br>• Planning, developing, facilitating and evaluating the work of Nurse Consultant I team members<br>• Ensure staff maximize effort and operate at peak efficiency to conduct Licensure and/or Medicare/Medicaid certification surveys. <br>• Ensure staff follow federal, state and section guidelines, processes, and procedures.<br>• Assist with planning and developing strategic plans, and goals, ensure departmental activities and guidelines are in adherence to regulatory requirements, and other duties as assigned.<br>• To conduct Licensure and/or Medicare certification of Home Care, Home Health & Hospice agencies and review of documentation to ascertain compliance with applicable State Licensure and/or Federal Certification Regulations.<br>• Providing technical assistance and interpreting regulations to staff on survey; analyzing survey findings and determining compliance with applicable rules and statutes and preparing deficiency reports documenting findings of non-compliance in a legally defensible manner, as well as reviewing staff reports.<br>• Reviewing plans of correction submitted by providers to ensure plans meet established criteria.<br>• Providing technical assistance and information to facilities, potential providers and the public on the licensure and certification process, requirements, and interpretations.<p></p><p><b>Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences</b></p><p><b>INTERNAL POSTING: ONLY PERMANENT FULL-TIME, PERMANENT PART-TIME, PROBATIONARY, TRAINEE, TEMPORARY OR TIME-LIMITED </b><b>DHHS</b><b> EMPLOYEES OR LAYOFF CANDIDATES WITH THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ELIGIBLE FOR RIF </b><b>PIORITY</b><b> REEMPLOYMENT CONSIDERATION AS DESCRIBED BY GENERAL STATUTE (GS) 126 MAY APPLY.</b></p><p></p><p><span class="emphasis-3">Salary Range: $66,696 - $110,049</span></p><p><span class="emphasis-3">Recruitment Range: $66,696 - $85,080</span></p><p></p><p><i>Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.</i></p><p></p><p><i>The Knowledge Skills and Abilities/ Management Preferences are not required.
